México es Cultura, the platform for dissemination of culture of the National Council for Culture and Arts, has been ranked among the top 15 applications (apps) in the world, according to research by CNNExpansión. Within the ranking of the best 'apps' for each operating system México es Cultura is highlighted in the category of apps for Windows Phone.
México es Cultura, a platform for the dissemination of cultural activities and venues in the country, includes a bilingual web page in Spanish and English, a toll free number 01800 CULTURA and applications for Android, iPhone and iPad, as well as profiles on Facebook and Twitter.
In 2014, México es Cultura was relaunched, which enabled a significant growth of the website, as part of the Digital Agenda Cultural program within the actions outlined by Conaculta’s President Rafael Tovar y de Teresa.
The service offers the cultural agenda of the City of Mexico and 26 other cities in the country. Through the service people can learn about the different activities taking place in museums, auditoriums, libraries, cultural centers, with locations, information about access and about exhibitions, music, dance and relevant art projects.
The platform disseminates the cultural content of about 120 agencies in the cultural sector from public and private institutions to universities, councils and secretaries of culture. The average monthly number of available cultural activities is around 1450.
