Chief Executive

Birmingham Hippodrome,
04 February 2015, England

Birmingham Hippodrome is one of the finest theatre complexes in the UK with a programme which features the best in musical theatre, dance, opera, drama and the most popular pantomime in the UK. It achieves paid attendance of over 500,000 each year in a single auditorium and attracts many more to a wide-ranging programme of creative activities.

Across all its activities the theatre achieves a turnover of over £25m which enables it to trade in regular surplus and invest in artistic and other development without the requirement for ongoing public funding.

Together with its resident organisations, Birmingham Royal Ballet and DanceXchange, and the biennial International Dance Festival, Birmingham Hippodrome comprises one of the most significant dance hubs in the UK.

It is managed by Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trust, an independent charity, which is now seeking to appoint an exceptionally talented and highly motivated Chief Executive to lead the organisation’s strategic development, building on a thriving core business.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and effective leader within the arts, entertainment or leisure industries, with a proven track record of running a successful business with a significant turnover and a large team.  He or she will have strategic and financial planning ability, commercial acumen, entrepreneurial and artistic flair, and excellent communication skills.

For an information pack, please contact Heather Newill, Director AEM International, on [email protected]. Closing date for applications: Friday, 27th February at 5pm.
