Minister Mthethwa hosted media briefing on department

Department of Arts and Culture,

Minsiter of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, invited members of the media to discuss the new focus areas of the department such as, master classes; workshops and incubator programme, as well as how the department wants to upscale the focus on job creation and sustainability of the cultural and creative industries. The Minister will further use the session to outline the department’s strategic direction in developing, preserving and promotion of the Arts, Culture and Heritage landscape in the country.

Minister Mthethwa was be accompanied by the Chief Executive Officers of the following Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) entities: Iziko Museum, Artscape, Robben Island and SAHRA.

As the country celebrates 20 Years of Freedom, it is therefore important for government to interact with sector in order to reflect on progress made in the effort to improve the service quality of service delivery within the sector.
