Speech by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth: 'We now have a vibrant and steadily growing contemporary art scene in Singapore, that is an important because contemporary art is a means through which we express our identity, values and beliefs. It allows us to reflect on who we are – to ask deeper questions and to engage in conversations on critical issues about what we want our society to be, and where we would like to go in the future.'
