Museums Galleries Scotland Launches Partnership Fund

Museums and Galleries Scotland,
27 February 2015, Scotland

The new Partnerships Fund, launched on 26 February 2015, will be used to support partnerships across and beyond the museum sector and will raise the profile of museum sector collaborations of all kinds at a local, national and international level. Joanne Orr, Chief Executive of Museums Galleries Scotland said: “We are delighted to be in a position to launch this fund, as partnership projects contribute directly to the resilience of the Scottish museum sector. “The projects supported by the Partnerships Fund will contribute directly to the priorities of the National Strategy for Scotland’s museums and galleries, and will help to demonstrate the important role museums and galleries play in Scotland’s contemporary culture.” Applications for grants from £1,000 to £40,000 will be accepted, with an emphasis placed on larger projects, including those requesting an excess of £20,000 or spanning multiple years. Projects will be expected to demonstrate extensive engagement with sector and organisational strategic priorities, and show an intention to increase and drive sector resilience. In all instances it must be clear that the main benefit of the funding will be for Accredited Museums. Projects must reflect a demonstrated sector need. - See more at:
