Milan has the "potential" to be the most attractive city of the decade, as Berlin and Barcelona were in the past, Culture Minister Dario Franceschini said Wednesday, disclosing that Italy is working on bringing culture ministers from 140 countries to the Expo 2015 universal exposition between July 31 and August 1 Premier Matteo Renzi will take part in the two-day event, Franceschini added.
"If there was a G8 of culture, we would be the G1 and we want to recoup that role," Franschini said at the presentation of the Expo Pavilion.
The agenda for the ministers is abundant starting with a "way of contrasting the terrible thing that is the destruction of cultural heritage because it symbolises different cultures or religions," said Franceschini.
