CONACULTA ,

The Vasconcelos Library will host on 15 and 16 April the International Conference and Workshop on Public Space, organized by the Department of Architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in cooperation with the Laboratory for the City, which seeks to discuss the importance of inclusive and equitable public space.

In an interview with Conaculta the director of the Vasconcelos Library, Daniel Goldin, said they decided to host the event because the Vasconcelos library it is a place to promote the recognition and entitlement of everyone to information, training and participation. "It seems natural to us to present a program that tends to inform and generate discussion about public space means in a city and society like ours."
In his opinion, the Vasconcelos Library is the public space par excellence in two ways: the one hand it’s a place funded by the State which allows access to anyone, without any impediment, and also a place where people can publicly discuss all things

"From the beginning of his administration Rafael Tovar y de Teresa said he was seeking to promote transversal work and to work with both cultural and academic institutions as well as with government and the civil society. I think that this meeting will benefit the general public and the society as a whole”
