The 42nd meeting of Chief Executives of Culture of the Federation was declared open today, Tuesday 28th July, 2015 by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Mrs Nkechi Ejele.

Welcoming delegates to the meeting, the Director-General NCAC, Mrs. Dayo Keshi, emphasized the role of the meeting in determining the flavor and public perception of the significance of the sector and the economic potentials within. She also used the opportunity to intimate the gathering of plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Council. She consequently solicited the active participation of all states in the Federation.

The meeting recorded the attendance of 24 states of the federation including FCT, six (6) Federal Parastatals and Department of Entertainment and Creative Services of the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation.

The Technical Session featured the presentation of memos by the National Council for Arts and Culture and Federal Agencies of Culture present and briefs and reports from states and the FCT.

A communique arising from resolutions on the floor of the meeting will be deliberated and adopted as part of the closing ceremony, tomorrow Wednesday, 29th July, 2015.
