The week is intended to "celebrate diversity, highlight best practice and consider what it means to share one place as many different people". The Arts Council’s Building Peace through the Arts Programme, has helped communities across Northern Ireland and the border counties engage in creative ways to strengthen relationships.

Public art has been the lynchpin to this progamme - artists and communities come together to engage in creativity, finding new ways through public art to express who they are and where they have come from.
