Ministry of Cultural Development announces new Secretary, launch of newsletter and 50th Anniversary of self-governance

Ministry of Cultural Development,
30 October 2015, Cook Islands

New Secretary, Mr Anthony Turua writes: “It is my great pleasure to introduce myself as the new Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Development and I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the former Secretary Mr Sonny Williams for leading the ministry in prior years.” We will continue to encourage, promote, support and oversee Museum, Archive, Library, National Councils, Anthropology Service and National Events. This year marks the 50th Anniversary Celebration of our self government from 1965 - 2015 and celebrations have been overwhelmingly positive. We wish to acknowledge our people of Rarotonga, Pa Enua and Overseas for contributing top quality events during the period of celebration, and extend a special acknowledgment to our many Sponsors including our Government and Overseas Partners who have made it possible to support and stage this memorable event. We are pleased to release our first monthly newsletter on past and future activities carried out by the ministry to inform our community of the development at the ministry.
