Artinfo’s Mostafa Heddaya reports that a review from New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs says that the people operating various cultural institutions throughout all five of New York City’s boroughs are almost half as diverse as the city’s residents. People of color make up 67 percent of the city's population, yet less than 40 percent of the city’s cultural institutions employ people of color. The results of the survey were released yesterday, and can be found on Ithaka S+R’s website, the consulting firm responsible for the inquiry.
