Workshop: ‘Fostering New Policies for Creativity in the Caribbean’

UNESCO,
27 June 2016, Barbados

UNESCO Workshop on the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions
The objectives of this activity are to build institutional and professional capacities for the effective implementation of the 2005 Convention, with the aim of increasing awareness regarding the requirements for reporting on the contribution of the cultural and creative industries to one's local economy. It will also emphasize empowerment and wider participation of youth and youth civil society in creative economies and policy formulation.

Training will also be provided on the modalities of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD), which supports culture for development projects globally. The meeting will also serve to present UNESCO’s first Global Report, “Re-shaping Cultural Policies,” published last December, on the impact and results of 10 years of the implementation of the 2005 Convention.
