Culture policy 2017-2020 presents Aarhus Municipality's vision and goals in the field of culture.
The cultural policy priorities contribute to the fact that Aarhus citizens, the public, cultural institutions and businesses - can reap the long-term gains of being the European Capital of Culture in 2017.
With the vision "Aarhus - an international city where culture sets the agenda," in the coming years Focus on: Active environments for cultural production, Talent development, Temporary life and urban life, Culture as bridgebuilder / Culture for all, Networking and cooperation, as well as Identity and Visibility.
Cultural policy has come about in a dynamic, engaging and dialogue-based process of ten months with a broad involvement of the Aarhus Municipal Culture Committee, actors from the arts and culture environment, citizens, The municipality's magistrates and other stakeholders.
Cultural policy is followed by concrete initiatives to further develop the cultural area and contribute to realizing the policy's objectives.
Aarhus Municipality's Culture Policy for 2017-2020 was adopted by Aarhus City Council on November 23, 2016.
