UNESCO has approved IFACCA as an official NGO partner with consultative status. In her letter to IFACCA, the Director General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, noted that cooperation between UNESCO and IFACCA has a solid foundation based on many areas of common interest, synergies and previous collaborations. The partnership will allow IFACCA to provide input to UNESCO’s General Conference as observers, receive invitations to Committee sessions, meetings and consultations, and will facilitate regular exchange of information between the two organisations. In May, IFACCA’s Executive Director, Sarah Gardner, will attend the UNESCO NGO Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held in partnership with the Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation.
