Creative new Zealand has announced a series of changes to its Creative Places Award in 2003. The award, which acknowledges local government investment in the arts, will this year offer a prize for city councils and one for district councils in each of the competition’s five categories. Established in 1999, the Creative Places Award is open to all projects or initiatives that have been established and supported by a local authority. The five categories of the award are: Arts Provision; Built Environment Initiatives; Celebrating Cultural Diversity; Strategic Arts initiatives and Youth Initiatives.
