The International Network for Cultural Diversity (INCD) joined with the United Nations in celebration of the first World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development on May 21. Establishing the day earlier this year, the UN General Assembly underlined the vital links between cultural diversity, peace and sustainable development. According to the INCD, the day aims to raise awareness of the global movement to protect and promote cultural diversity. ‘Our world of unequal economic relationships has created unequal cultural relationships,’ INCD Co-ordinator Garry Neil said. ‘This is leading to the cultural domination of many nations by the cultural productions of another.’ For more information about the International Network for Cultural Diversity CLICK HERE
