The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) Cultural Affairs Programme now invites consultants to contribute to the development of a regional 'Framework for the Economic Valuation of Culture in the Pacific Islands'. The Framework will include a set of regional guidelines of the policies and key definitions and a model classification system in concordance with other international classification systems. In developing the Framework, the consultant is expected to examine the existing systems relating to cultural goods industries, take into account other international, regional and national systems for the economic valuation of expressions of culture, recommend regional policies and guidelines, prepare a draft Classification System for the Pacific region and present that report in a regional workshop to be organised by the SPC.
