Exposed Roots showcases Canadian aboriginal and world music acts

IFACCA/Artshub,
16 November 2003, Canada

From November 21 to 23, the Canada Council’s 'Exposed Roots' showcase will present 16 Canadian aboriginal and world music groups to key Canadian and international presenters, managers and agents, as well as the media and record industry. Exposed Roots aims to create greater awareness of Canadian Aboriginal and culturally diverse music artists to international markets. It will target Canadian promoters who organise concert series throughout the year. The selected artists will perform in Montreal and represent the diversity and scope of musical forms created in Canada. Exposed Roots is part of a larger strategy undertaken by the Canada Council for the Arts Outreach Office (New Audience and Market Development), advisory committees and the Music Section in developing the careers of culturally diverse and Aboriginal music artists.
