Archives congress to break new ground

IFACCA/Artshub,
20 January 2004, Austria

The major event of the global archiving community; the International Congress on Archives; will be held in Vienna this August. Participants will have their eyes focused on the future, with 'state of the art' firmly on the agenda. The assembly, under the title Archives, Memory and Knowledge breaks new ground in its format. Multiple streams of concurrent sessions will provide a forum for interactive professional discourse, through round tables, interactives, and workshops, as well as formal papers and audience participation. 'Leading thinkers from outside the archival profession and archival experts from around the world will present the state of the art for the global archives community,' stated ICA Secretary-General Joan van Albada when announcing the event.
