Reporting to the Director, the General Manager plays a key role as part of the Executive Management Team and will need to demonstrate a business acumen including strong financial and human resource management, conceptual and analytical skills. You will have a thorough understanding of the national and international context within which the Museum operates and the Government's information economy, communications and cultural policies. Develop and implement policies, products and services that meet the Museum's business objectives. Plan and direct the activities of the Public Programs and Audience Development Division. Ensure the timely completion and delivery of all Public Programs and Audience Development Division products and services on budget and to a high standard. Advise the Director and Council of the National Museum of Australia on public programs and audience development issues. Represent the Museum at high level negotiations and discussions with Government Departments and Authorities, cultural institutions, professional groups and, the private sector on matters relating to the development and implementation of Museum programs, products and services. Contribute to the strategic planning process of the Museum.
