Prime Minister of Quebec, Mr Jean Charest has made public the governmental reference document he hopes will pave the way for a positive and productive reaffirmation of Quebecois identity. The document, entitled To Shine Among The Best, presents the vision and priorities of the Quebec government, and will be used as the basis for discussion forums to be held next spring in all regions of the nation. To Shine Among The Best, suggests strategic pathways in the areas of personal freedom, responsible citizenry, entrepreneurship, social justice, lasting economy, democratic values and the assertion of the Quebecois culture in Canada and beyond. "These directions constitute the prism through which we approach the ambitious mission to bring up to date the functioning of our society and to give us again, among other things, a Quebecois State able to look after, bring up and support its most impoverished citizens", said Mr Charest.
