Reporting to the Public Lending Right Commission, the incumbent manages the Public Lending Right program; implements the Commission’s policy decisions; administers its budget; supervises the work of its 3 staff members; proposes and develops improvements to the PLR system; liaises with officials from the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Council, Canadian public libraries and with international PLR counterparts; promotes public lending right at all levels. The ideal candidate will have:
  • broad management experience in the writing and publishing or library field, normally acquired through at least four years of practical office administration of which at least two years have been in the position of office supervisor or equivalent;
  • an advanced knowledge of trends and issues in the fields of writing, publishing and public library operations in Canada;
