Creative New Zealand has announced that Otago Arts Trust, publishers of the award-winning 'Otago Arts Guide', have now launched arts road maps to guide people through the region and show them where artists are located along the various art trails in Otago. The initiative aims to strengthen the network of cultural information available to tourists, making it easier for visitors to find artists and enticing them to spend longer in the region. Otago Arts Trust Chairperson Tony Eyre says that more than 120 artists have 'put themselves on the map' by participating in the Art Roads of Otago project. "The arts maps provide an opportunity for artists not in the original Otago Arts Guide to be seen as part of a rich network of artistic activity in the region," he said. "The maps also give further support to those artists already featured in the guide." Six maps have been produced and are available free of charge to art seekers. They will be distributed at key locations throughout Otago and will be available from the beginning of April in electronic form on the Otago Arts Guide website. For further information, CLICK HERE
