Annual Report 2004-05

The Australia Council for the Arts has released its Annual Report for 2004-05. In addition to financial statements, the document includes details of:
  • The Council’s first major organisational review in nine years;
  • 2005 Federal Budget outcomes: response to the Orchestras Review 2005, renewal of government initiatives managed by the Council, and exemption of the Council from an increase in the efficiency dividend;
  • Evaluation of the Council’s Arts in a Multicultural Australia Policy;
  • Ongoing support for the stability and vitality of small to medium arts companies;
  • Council submissions to the government’s national creativity and innovation policy agenda; and
  • Second-year results for the Visual Arts and Craft Strategy. Also covered are the first recipients of New Australian stories funding; Australia’s presence at Venice Biennale 2005, with the support of funds raised through Artsupport Australia; and a summary of the 1912 grants issued (from 4939 applications received).
