A new President signals a major government initiated reshuffle of Swiss Arts Council, Pro Helvetia. Mario Annoni, a member of the Bern cantonal government, has been named by the Swiss government to head the Council. Annoni, who also holds the portfolio of director of education and culture, replaces former Senator Yvette Jaggi at the helm of the national body. Announcing new Pro Helvetia board members for the next four years, the Swiss government revealed that more than a third of the current board members have been replaced - board numbers down from 35 to 25 members, with legislation on the way reduce this number to 9. The mandate of the new board will only last until the new law comes into force, some time in 2008 or 2009. For more information, CLICK HERE.
