PICA has been at the leading edge of the contemporary arts in Australia for over 15 years. The organisation is located in an iconic, heritage building in Perth’s Cultural Centre, Northbridge, with two floors of exhibition and performance spaces, studios and a recently refurbished bar/cafe. PICA’s mission is to creatively and critically engage with contemporary ideas and arts practice with a local, national and international focus; to support West Australian and Australian contemporary artists at all stages of their career and across art forms within a national and international context; to nurture and encourage experimental, innovative and high quality work; and to facilitate debate and dialogue. PICA seeks to realise this mission in a way that is open and accessible and that seeks to engage with the widest possible audience. PICA is now looking for a new Executive Director - a person with wide experience in the contemporary arts and a passion for new ideas and practices, and extensive multidisciplinary programming experience - to lead the organisation into the next stage of its development while preserving and respecting the unique position and reputation that PICA holds in Australia and abroad.
