The organisation is located in an iconic, heritage building in Perth’s Cultural Centre, Northbridge, with two floors of exhibition and performance spaces, studios and a recently refurbished bar/cafe. PICA’s mission is to creatively and critically engage with contemporary ideas and arts practice with a local, national and international focus; to support West Australian and Australian contemporary artists at all stages of their career and across art forms within a national and international context; to nurture and encourage experimental, innovative and high quality work; and to facilitate debate and dialogue. PICA seeks to realise this mission in a way that is open and accessible and that seeks to engage with the widest possible audience. PICA is now looking for a new Executive Director - a person with wide experience in the contemporary arts and a passion for new ideas and practices, and extensive multidisciplinary programming experience - to lead the organisation into the next stage of its development while preserving and respecting the unique position and reputation that PICA holds in Australia and abroad.
