Director, Cultural Development and Strategic Programs 11833 Level 8, $85,693 to $93,076 WORK TYPE: Permanent - Full Time LOCATION: Perth JOB DESCRIPTION: Directs, develops and co-ordinates the resources and activities of the Policy and Programs Area of the Directorate in accordance with corporate objectives and the operational plan, particularly in the areas of advice, policy, strategic development and partnerships, industry research, publications and functional programming of arts and cultural assets. Participates as a member of the Directorate’s executive team. SELECTION CRITERIA: ESSENTIAL: Highly developed skills and demonstrated ability to: ·Individual Characteristics: Exhibit a personal commitment to customer service, integrity and personal learning. Working within the value system of the Department of Culture and the Arts (eg team work, continuous improvement, equity) is also relevant to this criterion. Leadership: Ability to assume an important role in achieving an environment within the Directorate that provides forward thinking and clearly articulated strategic direction for culture and arts. The ability to establish networks and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people is important to this criterion. People Management: Promote a work environment that empowers, motivates and develops the diverse talents of people and ensures an optimum level of appropriately skilled employees. Management of Physical and Financial Resources: In an environment of constraint ensure that resources including financial, physical, technological, and information requirements are available to maintain product/service delivery. Workforce Change: Recognise opportunities to enhance culture and arts development and service delivery and capitalise on these through effective change strategies. This includes initiating policy development and review within a public policy environment. Achievement of Outcomes: Deliver timely products/services consistent with client/customer needs with defined quality expectation. Experience in working in a cultural or arts discipline is important to this criterion.
