The Canadian Cultural Observatory unveils a new primer series on Canadian cultural policy. This first Canadian Cultural Policy 101 In Focus provides an overview of the federal government’s historical role in the development and implementation of today’s cultural ecosystem and highlights specific cultural policies created to develop and sustain Canadian culture and identity. Future editions will take a closer look at the key elements of cultural policy in Canada and its implementation on the provincial, territorial and municipal levels.
