Dance Plan 2012 is a four-year action plan for the Australian dance sector produced by the Australia Council for the Arts and Ausdance.

The plan, written in consultation with the dance sector, has identified four ambitions for 2012. Each one is accompanied by a list of achievable objectives. These ambitions reflect the diversity and dynamism of dance in our communities. But they require our energy and attention to ensure that dance, as an artform and an enjoyable form of recreation for all, remains at the heart of Australian life.

By 2012 we will have:

• more excellent and innovative Australian dance
• more opportunities to see and participate in Australian dance
• dance as an integral part of every young person’s education
• a range of sustainable careers for dance artists.

Cultural diversity and Indigenous cultural heritage are integral to all our ambitions.
