The national regional arts broadband forum

Creative Australia,
22 March 2011, Australia

Sixty leading regional arts practitioners, policy makers and stakeholders from across the country are gathering at Parliament House, Canberra on Monday 28th March.

The National Regional Arts Broadband Forum, with special guest the Honourable Simon Crean MP, (Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government; Minister for the Arts) will discuss the national broadband roll out and the many opportunities we anticipate it will bring to regional artists and communities to create art, provide new work opportunities, new ways to communicate, make new contacts, exchange ideas and for greater access to skills and professional development.

The aim is to come up with practical ways to maximise the benefits of high speed broadband in the arts and cultural sector, with a particular focus on regional and remote communities. The Forum aims to spark wider engagement in this topic in the arts and cultural sector over the coming years, in conjunction with the roll out of the National Broadband Network.
