Ireland's elite artists are being insulated from funding cuts affecting other sectors as they receive over 2.5m in public funds each year.The Arts Council has said it has no plans to reduce the "cnuas" or grant that is awarded to members of Aosdana and amounts to just over 17,000 a year.
