Ngwao Letshwao Performing group is fast becoming a brand that will sustain itself in the near future. The group held a Press Conference yesterday which was organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, Botswana Tourism Organisation and DEBSWANA at the GIPS Rivoli Hall. The Press Conference was to launch the sponsorhip package from different stakeholders who have made the Ngwao Letshwao trip possible. The trip will see the traditional group going to Australia to participate in the ACP Multicultural festival launch which will be held in 2014. They hope to impress the organisers so that they are called to perform at the festival next year. The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture sponsored half of the groups's flight tickets and per dium while Botswana Tourism Organisation sponsored the other half. Debswana sponsored the attire and tracksuits that will be worn by the group while in Australia. The High Commission in Australia has secured accommodation for the group and they will also perform at the 47th Independence Celebrations which will also mark the 10th anniversary of the Mission. The Honorary Consul for Botswana also made it possible for the group to have their visa requirements waivered and they did not pay the charges. The group will leave on the 24th September and return on the 1st October 2013. The Ministry wish Ngwao Letshwao all the best and hope that they will act as true ambassadors while in Australia.
