Established in Australia since 1947, the British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.
The British Council works in partnership with a wide range of Australian organisations in the arts, education, science and intercultural relations.
Following the appointment of our current Country Director to a new role in China, we are now seeking an entrepreneurial and committed senior executive to lead our Australian operations.
Based in Sydney, the Country Director leads a growing team in building programmes and partnerships with the corporate, philanthropic, cultural, educational and Not for Profit sectors.
Ideal candidates for the role will have:
- a track record of negotiating partnerships with the public, private and not-for-profit sectors,
- proven leadership experience and capabilities of talented people and teams,
- a strong passion for, and understanding about, contemporary British culture and the value of intercultural relations,
- demonstrated financial, operational and management skills,
- high-level skills in communicating effectively through a wide range of channels across multiple sectors and countries.
