IFACCA meets with its members worldwide

In recent months, since the 6th World Summit on Arts and Culture in Santiago de Chile, various staff of the IFACCA Secretariat have had the opportunity to meet face-to-face with over 40 of the federation's members and potential members. 

In preparing the new Strategic Plan for 2015-2018, IFACCA has taken the opportunity to meet with many ministries and arts councils, while hosting events and representing IFACCA in other fora. Recently, this has included meetings with members and potential members from all regions:

 

  • The Americas at the IFACCA Americas regional meeting in Costa Rica, the 17th Iberoamerican Conference on Culture in Mexico, and related meetings in the US. 
  • The Pacific, at the IFACCA board meeting held in Fiji
  • Europe, through the IFACCA European Chapter meeting in Lithuania and follow-up meetings in France
  • Africa, at the Preparatory meeting for a Global South colloquium on Culture and Social Justice, and related meetings
  • Asia, during the IFACCA Asian Chapter meeting and the meeting on Diversity of Cultural Expressions in Asia: Challenges and Perspectives on the Implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Promotion and Protection of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions’, co hosted with UNESCO Asia-Pacific in Thailand
  • The Middle East with recent meetings in UAE and Qatar
  • and all regions at the IFACCA Researchers Meeting and ICCPR in Hildesheim, Germany

 

We were also very pleased to have recently welcomed to the IFACCA Secretariat office in Sydney: Stephen Wainwright, CEO of CreativeNZ – Toi Aotearoa; Poul Bache, Director, Kulturstyrelsen - Danish Agency for Culture; Alan Davey, CEO, Arts Council England and of course, Tony Grybowski, CEO, and various other executives at Australia Council for the Arts.
