Senior Arts Adviser - Literature

The Senior Arts Adviser-Literature contributes to the successful delivery of funding and initiatives/programmes across the literature portfolio by providing support, expertise and advice to individual artists, arts organisations, investment clients and stakeholders about funding and other support available through Creative New Zealand. They will also be required to provide support on other art forms as required.

 

This role, which can be based in Wellington or Auckland, reports to the Manager Arts Grants and Creative Communities Scheme in the Arts Funding team. Frequent travel will be required to engage with customers and stakeholders across New Zealand.

 

To succeed in this role you must have:

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the literature art form (at a ‘specialist’ level) as well as one or more other art forms.
  • Strong knowledge of arts development practises
  • A strong client services ethic
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills
  • Good financial skills including an understanding of financial reporting, financial analysis and budgeting.
  • Experience of funding processes including experience of setting, agreeing and monitoring contract/funding delivery standards
  • Project management skills
  • Proven stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • A commitment to the principles of the Treaty or Waitangi
