Abdul Bari Jahani, Minister of Information and Culture in a message has expressed happiness over including the week of book and book-reading in official calendar of Afghanistan government and the week is not celebrated every year in the country.
At the message, Jahani said,” The culture of book-reading is not common in the country.
For making splendor of t this culture, MoIC has celebrated the last week of Sawr as the week of book and book-reading for three years. Celebration of the week of book and book-reading has a clear message to the country’s youth to refer to book and further revive the culture of book-reading which has deep root in the history of the country.”
“For better celebration of the week, Ministry of Information and culture should open a book exhibition this year in cooperation with publishers’ organizations because book is a key to sciences,” the message said. According to another report, minister of information and culture Abdul Bari Jahani praised the country’s media for collaboration towards abducting incident in Zabul and a number those kidnapped in the province have been released.
