Cultural Embassy

In December 2009, the Parliament adopted the Cultural Promotion Act (KFG). The KFG provides that a perennial "message to finance cultural promotion in the Federal" (cultural embassy) defines the cultural policy of the Federation and the provided funds. The Cultural Embassy generally recognized in all transfer and investment loans of cultural promotion of the covenant, irrespective of whether the legal bases in individual special laws (eg. B. Film Act, Language Act, Nature and Cultural Heritage Protection Act, etc.) or anchored in the KFG itself. The Cultural Embassy is thus a kind of "timetable" for the cultural policy of the Federal represent.

 

First Cultural Embassy

The first Cultural Embassy applies for funding from 2012 to 2015 and entered into force on 1 January 2012.. The entire adopted with the Cultural Embassy spending limits and credit lines amounted for the years 2012 to 2015 to 669.5 million francs.

 

Second Cultural Embassy

on 28/11/2014 adopted the dispatch on the promotion of culture in the years 2016 to 2020, the Federal Council. The Cultural Embassy is focused on three key activities: cultural participation, social cohesion and creation and innovation. The Federal Council aims at a coherent national cultural policies and would like to enhance cooperation between the federal government, cantons, cities and municipalities. He requested 1 121 600 000 Swiss francs for all areas covered by the Federal Office of Culture, Pro Helvetia and the Swiss National Museum. Compared to the funding period 2012-2015, the annual budget is thus increased by an average of 3.4%. The Cultural Embassy 2016─2020 was adopted by Parliament on 19 June 2015 the Federal Council requested funding has been increased by three million francs. These additional funds are used to support museums, collections and networks of third parties. The Federal Office of Culture, Pro Helvetia and the Swiss National Museum now make the necessary arrangements for implementation of the cultural message from 1 January 2016th
