A funny thing happened on the way to Monday’s federal election: hardly anyone had much to say about cultural policy and funding for the arts. The Conservative platform vaguely promised to support arts and culture, offering no details. There was no hint of an apology for devastating cuts made to the CBC, the Canadian Heritage department budget and the film industry.
