Council of Culture reports damages in cultural spaces, artists and farmers in regions affected by fires

Artists, artisans, indigenous cultural guardians, Living Human Treasures and cultural spaces in the Maule, O'Higgins and Biobío regions have been directly affected by the fires that have been active so far in the country. The Council of Culture has deployed services on the ground to establish damages and losses in the cultural and intangible heritage sector.

"At the moment we are monitoring with our teams in the affected regions, the situation of artists and farmers. We know that the scenery changes at every moment, and up to the minute damage has been reported mainly in indigenous and artisans who work with raw materials which are in turn the engine of their local economies communities , "said Minister of Culture, Ernesto Ottone.

Local authorities said they are designing different strategies to address the emergency and its aftermath , both to support creators to come to the aid of all affected in different communes with a special containment program through the arts population.
