ACORNS 348: Early birds, cultural leaders, and the news (of course)

17 June 2016, International

The World Summit on Arts and Culture is now only four months away. This means there's only two weeks left to claim your title as an early bird. It's worth remembering that registrations can be transferred, so if you know that someone from your organisation will definitely attend, but you haven't decided who, you can secure a place and confirm your delegate details later. To benefit from the discounted rate, simply register before 30 June 2016

In preparation for the main event, we're getting to know some of the impressive cultural leaders who will be sharing their experience of leadership and taking part in discussions. We'll be sharing details of all our speakers with you over the coming months. This week's speakers-in-focus include:

Simon Brault, Director and CEO of the Canada Council for the Arts, has been the driving force behind a number of major projects in the cultural sector, and has received recognition for cultural leadership and achievements in bringing together arts and business.

Elvira Marco, Director General of Acción Cultural Española, has vast experience directing cultural programmes, including working with IESE Business School to design their Cultural Institution Management Programme.

Oussama Rifahi, Executive Director of the Arab Culture Fund, has provided  cultural expertise to national and local governments, foundations and private collectors, and was a key player in the development of Abu Dhabi's business model for tourism and culture.

Inés Sanguinetti, a dancer, choreographer and social activist, is the President of Crear Vale la Pena. She has helped transform arts education in Buenos Aires, and advocates for education, social cohesion and cultural development.
