The West Australia Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is one of Australia’s most outstanding orchestras and represents the pinnacle of musical excellence in Western Australia. WASO consists of 83 full time musicians and presents over 170 performances per annum to over 140,000 people throughout the state. This position requires a multi- skilled person with leadership skills, business and financial management acumen, a love of the arts and the ability to deliver. Reporting to the Board, the CEO will ensure WASO continues to present compelling and engaging musical performances across different genres to a large and diverse community. Responsibilities will include:
  • Operation of WASO under the direction of the Board and in conjunction with a strategic plan;
  • Providing leadership and strategic management to WASO in the achievement of their mission and corporate goals;
  • Coordinating sponsorship activity as well as major projects; and
  • Working with external agencies/ government to develop funding opportunities. This represents a unique and rare opportunity to provide leadership to one of WA’s most significant artistic endeavours.
