ARTS EDUCATION RESEARCH COMPENDIUM PUBLISHED

IFACCA,
02 March 2006, Australia

We are delighted to announce the publication of "The Wow Factor: Global research compendium on the impact of arts in education". Written by Professor Anne Bamford, the Compendium compares data and case studies from more than 60 countries, analysing the differences between “education in the arts” and “education through the arts”, developing internationally comparable standards for quality arts education and identifying a number of concrete educational, cultural, and social benefits of arts education. The Compendium was produced as a collaboration between Professor Bamford, UNESCO, the Australia Council and IFACCA and involved a D'Art question, a mini-summit, and extensive analysis by Professor Bamford with support from a team of experts and researchers around the world. We will soon be distributing a free copy of the Compendium to IFACCA members and survey respondents. For others, copies of the compendium can be obtained by advance order for 24.90Euro through [email protected] (http://www.waxmann.com/kat/1617.html).
