Are you a dynamic leader in the visual arts? An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced arts manager to lead and further develop Artbank, Australia’s largest contemporary art rental scheme. Artbank is an Australian Government arts support program, located in the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. The program provides direct support to artists through purchase of their work and encourages a wider appreciation of Australian art by making it available for display in public places. Works from Artbank’s collection are rented by private, commercial and government clients as well as Australian embassies around the world. We encourage you to apply for this role if you have an in-depth knowledge of Australia’s contemporary visual arts, strong strategic ability, and commercial acumen balanced with a keen understanding of the government context, and excellent communication and people skills. An attractive remuneration package including salary, superannuation and performance pay will be offered under an Austalian Workplace Agreement. The position is expected to become vacant 7 July 2006.
