Mini Summit delegates – flying Carbon Neutral

IFACCA,
14 May 2008, Australia

IFACCA has offset carbon emissions for delegates to the Major Performing Arts Mini summit held in Adelaide, Australia earlier this year.

Last year, IFACCA decided to offset the carbon emissions of staff flights to reduce the impact of its meetings and events on the environment. IFACCA would like to encourage all its members to ‘fly carbon neutral’ when they are attending IFACCA meetings and events in the future.

We use the QANTAS (Australia’s major airline) Fly Carbon Neutral program, which calculates carbon emissions based on the distance of the flight. The calculator is available here:

IFACCA is also currently undertaking research into Arts and Ecological Sustainability as part of our D’Art research program. We are collating examples of good practice in supporting artists or arts organisations with creative and practical responses to ecological concerns such as environmental sustainability and climate change. If you would like to be involved in this research, please click here for further information .
