As part of the Creative Australia Artists program, the Dance section of the Australia Council has released information about the Creative Australia – Presentation initiative for 2014. The purpose of the initiative is to build and diversify audiences for the presentation of Australian dance works. Successful proposals will present a range of Australian dance works with broad benefit for dance artists and audiences. This initiative, which provides funds of up to $50,000 to the successful applicants, is open to individuals, groups, organisations and companies that present programs of work – including festivals and venues. This is the first year of a three year initiative and $100,000 will be available each year.
The initiative presents an exciting opportunity to increase the breadth and reach of contemporary dance programming, through an innovative approach to leveraging funds and a strong curatorial vision.
