The II stage of the project of integration, participation and social inclusion between El Salvador and Ecuador was launched on 2 June by the Secretary of Culture, Dr. Ramon Rivas; Ecuador's ambassador, Segundo Andrango Bonilla, and the project director, Doris Jimenez.

The project began on 2 June with the forum "Social Art in Latin America"; and will continue -3 June with training workshops run by Ecuadorian Social Circus artists, specialists in the methodology of Social Art.

"We fully work with other institutions of the government to prevent youth violence, we believe that this project will help us with the inclusion and social reintegration of young people at risk through circus arts," said Dr. Rivas.

Ambassador Andrango expressed "satisfaction for initiating these important activities for youth, especially those priority groups in society".

In this second stage more than 200 young people will be formed from the municipalities of El Paraiso, Chalatenango; Corinto, Morazán; Verapaz, San Vicente; and San Salvador. The training will take place at the National Arts Centre (DINE), where the first stage of the project was held in 2013.
Social art involves all art forms as a tool of social intervention, which helps the development of self-confidence and improve lifestyle, said the project director, Doris Jimenez.

The instructors are part of the Social Circus project of the cities of Cuenca and Loja. The Social Circus aims at contributing to the inclusion and social reintegration of children and youth at social risk through circus arts.
