The International Confederation of Societies of Authors & Composers and company are preparing a presentation of a new report on the industries of culture and creativity on the theme "Cultural times - the first global map of industries of culture and creativity".
According to UNESCO, the report will be presented on 3 December at its headquarters in Paris.
According to the report, the industries of culture and creativity bring $2.25 bn or 3% of global GDP and employ 29.5 million people (1% of the active population of the world). Income from industries of culture and creative work exceeds the income from telecommunication services and employ more people than the automotive industry of Europe, Japan and USA together (29.5 million jobs versus 25 million jobs respectively).
This all-encompassing report analyses 11 sectors of the industries of culture and creativity in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
