The National Cultural Institutions Impact report shows how important these institutions are to Australia’s cultural landscape.

We work with the NCIs to gain insights into access, education, funding, audience reach and much more.

Some key findings for 2016-17 include:

  • Visits to the National Collecting Institutions reached 10.7 million
  • For the first time more than 10,000 schools visited the National Collecting Institutions
  • The size of our national collections increased to 10.5 million items
  • More than one million of these items have been digitised
  • National Arts Development Institutions supported more than 200 festival projects.
